$25.00

Shipping to United States: $3.35

Hand dyed sock yarn. This yarn is dyed in a base of light blue and chartruse then is speckled with dark teal and a vibrant blue. The speckles are randomly applied and there is some mixing between the colors. Each skein is unique, so like all hand dyed yarn if using more than 1 skein for a project it is highly recommended to alternate skeins. This listing is for 1 skein of BFL Staple Sock.

This yarn is a repeatable colorway but due to the nature of hand dyed yarn may vary slightly from what is pictured. Looking for more than what is listed? Send me a convo!

Colorway - Don't Bring Me Down

BFL Staple Sock Base -
Sock/fingering weight
100 grams/3.5 oz
460 yards
75% Superwash BFL (Bluefaced Leicester) wool/25% Nylon
This yarn is a 4-ply yarn with a slight sheen natural to BFL fibers. It is springy and resilient, giving extra strength to socks, but may not be soft enough for some people to wear around their neck. Yarns in this base may vary slightly in color from Staple Sock due to the way that BFL absorbs dye and the starting yarn is a creamer color. This yarn is superwash and can be machine washed on gentle, but it is recommended to wash by hand to preserve the life of your garment.

Although I try my best to accurately display colors, all computer monitors do not show colors the same. I use professional acid dyes and soak each dyed item in cold water to rinse out any loose dye that may remain. However, some dye may still bleed when washed, but should not effect the color of the fiber.

All items made in a non-smoking, cat and dog friendly home.

Yarn can be wound into a ball free of charge, just ask in the note to seller

Care instructions

Even though superwash wool can go into the washing machine without felting, I recommenced hand washing and laying flat to dry to preserve the life of your finished object. Washers and especially dryers can be very hard on clothes! Use a gentle wool wash and cool water since hot water can cause acid dyes to bleed. Any of my yarns with Mohair, Yak, Cashmere or non-superwash wool should definitely be hand washed since they are not superwash and may felt.

After yarn is dyed

After dyeing the yarn I soak all skeins in cold water with a bit of Dharma's Professional Textile Detergent then rinse with cold water to wash out loose dye. However, some dye may still bleed when washed, but should not effect the color of the yarn/fiber.

Scents/Perfumes

The detergent I use to rinse dyed yarn is unscented. I have to use vinegar to set the colors when dyeing my Pixie Sock base so there may be a very slight scent which will fade with time and washing. All other yarns use citric acid which is unscented. I very rarely use room spray, perfume, or burn candles in my home and never in the room where my yarn is stored. Please be aware if you have allergies I do have two cats and two dogs in my home.
